A haul-out is straightforward if you know what to expect. If it is your first time using our travel lift, or your first haul-out anywhere, this is what the day looks like from arrival to the moment your vessel is on the hard standing.

Before you arrive

Book at least one week in advance through the harbour office. We need your vessel's length, beam, and approximate displacement. If your vessel has a fin keel, a twin keel, or a lifting keel, mention it when you book. The sling positioning changes depending on the keel configuration.

Remove or secure anything on deck that could fall during the lift: loose lines, fenders, anything in the cockpit. The lift is smooth but the vessel does move. Fuel and water tanks can be full or empty; it does not affect the lift significantly at our weight range.

The lift itself

Arrive at the travel lift dock at least 30 minutes before your scheduled time. We will guide you into position between the lift legs. The slings go under the hull at two points; Tanaka positions them based on the keel layout. The lift takes around 15 minutes from water to hard standing.

Once the vessel is in the air, we do a quick visual check of the hull below the waterline before moving to the hard standing. If there is something obvious. A damaged skeg, a bent shaft. We will point it out before the vessel is set down.

On the hard standing

The vessel is set on a cradle (included in the haul-out rate) and propped upright. We pressure-wash the hull immediately after haul-out, while the growth is still wet. If you are having antifouling applied, the hull needs to dry for at least four hours before painting begins.

You are welcome to work on the vessel yourself while it is on the hard. The yard is accessible during harbour office hours. If you need power tools or want to work outside those hours, let us know in advance.

The whole process from arrival to vessel on the hard usually takes about two hours, including the pressure wash. If you have questions before your booking, call the office on +81 3-3453-9911.
